Who We Are

The Marketing Mafia Alliance is a group of freelancers united by our support for the Alliance Chamber of Commerce. Seeing the marketing needs of local small businesses that couldn't afford big agency prices, we came together as trusted, vetted affiliates. We each work independently but collaborate as a team, providing affordable, high-quality marketing services to help businesses succeed.

Our collective was founded on the belief that community support drives success. Melissa Gardner is a seasoned communication and marketing professional with over 30 years of experience driving strategy, brand evolution, and data-driven results. As chief communication officer at the University of Mount Union, she has led initiatives in strategic planning, crisis response, and reputation management, including spearheading a major rebrand during the institution's transition from college to university. A magna cum laude graduate of Mount Union, Melissa also holds an M.A. in journalism and mass communication from Kent State and a Marketing Strategy Certificate from Cornell, complementing her training in leadership through HERS and Brené Brown's Dare to Lead framework.
